Memorial Day Memoirs: A peak into a lovely weekend.

We frolicked in amazing weather all weekend, set up some relaxing spaces, baked, ate well, launched chinese lanterns, hit pinatas, ate really, really well, enjoyed a Memorial Day party with dear friends and took it all in with a lazy summer day attitude, filled with fun.
& what better way to open a beautiful weekend than with a Memorial Day Yankee Doodle Dandy Salute.

A Mother's Day gift from Cameryn to greet me in my kitchen each morning.
So we have some history with this chair. It had been a comfortable space to watch an amazing moonlit Washington sky with newborn Cohl in arms and occasionally we have been even lucky enough to catch the aurora borealis.
A cozy space for reading stories, hugs, nursing and just being with two babies in the wee hours of the night.
I recently had it recovered and Cohl often uses it as a reading space, while I just collapse in it and rest in the busy-ness of a day. It now welcomes us in our foyer. Who knows... it may have another re-invention in the horizon.

A cul-de-sac gathering... take in the seaside air, witness the epic light. thank you to our dear neighbor and friend, Keri for sharing these fantastic Chinese lanterns. (just not enough time to set up a necessary tripod for action night shots).
a Memorial Day party hosted by hosts extraordinaire Brandy & Larry. Honestly they did not overlook one detail. Brandy's beau Larry, may be the finest chef. The spread was seriously amazing! (of course I took home left overs : 0).

Thank you for checking in. I so enjoy hearing your comments.
