Micro & Macro

I love how photography present so many possibilities. Lately I have practicing with wide sweeping landscapes with as much back light as possible, which is how I love to photograph my families.  Yet, at the same time I am drawn back in to the architecture and random micro objects.
It is stunning how much beauty is presented in the world. Although, on random days you really need to look for it.

always the challenge to grow

In photography, their never really exists a point where you arrive, I think. You are always challenging yourself and keeping all of the components hopefully in control as you shoot. Their is always so much to think about (shutter speeds, ISO, aperture, backdrops, moving light and most importantly keeping everyone relaxed and be sure they are having fun while all the while bringing out the best in them. I think that is my favorite part.... bring out the best in people.
Meanwhile while all of this is running through my head, during a session, I am trying to keep it simple as my mentors suggest. Which if you really think about it is almost impossible. Lately I am enamoured with the challenge & vision of sweeping backdrops & lots & lots of back light. Possibly the biggest challenge at the moment, as I learn and grow with camera in hand, if I am being totally honest, is to keep two little boys entertained and be sure they are having an amazing summer while of course trying to photograph.
