Cameryn Reece's First Haircut

First Hair Cut

Tuesday was a momentous day for little Cameryn Reece. Not only did he have his first professional haircut (27 months now), we went to purchase his first pair of underwear! (He choose between Elmo...his obsession and Thomas Train, his next obsession. I managed to talk him into Elmo, as it was a much more economical decision). You see, Cameryn started to self-potty train at 19 months. A milestone, I was certainly ill-prepared for at such an early age. But, thanks to his big brother, Cameryn was rearing and ready to go. I know we have been very blessed, considering potty training is typically not an easy feat. With Cameryn it was essentially no work at all and actually a lot of fun!
For his haircut, Cameryn had a choice of sitting in a beautiful airplane or a silver Ferrari... Smart kid, choose the Ferrari.
When our stylist asked Cameryn which movie he would like to watch, he said "Powa Espress" (Polar Express). I was sure they wouldn't have it, but sure enough they did. He did really well and enjoyed the experience, overall.
Cameryn now very much enjoys telling people in spontaneous conversation, "I got my hair cut and I watched Polar Express."
Kudos also to Adventure Cuts. They were wonderful. I was especially impressed, in talking with the proprietor, to hear that they cater to children with special needs.
In Cohl's (Cameryn's Big Brother) victory with atypical autism, we met parents with atypical children along our journey, in which something as routine as going to get a haircut or having pictures taken, is an all out struggle. In any event, what a great place for a kid to go and get a haircut. It is a bit more money for a haircut, but so well worth it!
I hope you enjoy viewing the photos as much I enjoyed taking them. It certainly was a great adventure and we had a blast!
