This week their was an abundance of chocolate, flowers and sweet visitors in the home. Now chocolate, flowers and sweet visitors... usually the case in our home, yet this week we had an abundance of mint too. With six special little friends and special mom friends, we celebrated the last week of summer with an intimate little gathering & play-date. (Come to think of it, we should have had it a picnic). We served a summertime raspberries, orange and goat cheese salad for the mommies, corn dogs for the babes and a fun time was had by all. I had so much joy in this little event: a sweet old fashion play-date and, of course, it was summer mint as our lunchtime theme. Most of these snapshots were taken prior and my camera stayed pretty quite during our gathering, so I could enjoy food, conversation and our little and big friends.
We seperated peppermint and planted them in these little canisters for each friend to take home and plant with their babes. Hopefully they will be useful.
Coincidentally (what do you know about that!) a yummy watermelon and mint fruit salad shared by one of our friends.
My thought was to make a homemade treat besides the cookies that the kids and I made. As it has been a busy week with photo sessions, my thought dwindled and so I bought these brownie treats from a local bakery sprinkled them with powdered sugar, topped them with fruit and instant desert... a bit homemade.
Oh..... just too tough to pick just one shot of these cuties!
